Dear UJAA Family,
It’s that time of year again. Thanksgiving has come and gone, and we gave thanks for all our many blessings. Now we are all looking forward to Christmas. It is still a time to give thanks and, where possible, give and receive gifts. For those of the Christian faith it is Advent. For those of the Jewish faith it is Hanukkah, and for others it might be Kwanzaa. Whatever you celebrate we on the UJAA board wish you Happy Holidays.
Once again UJAA is facilitating Christmas Care Packages through the alumni associations, to schools in Jamaica. Arrangements have been made with the Lasco Chin Foundation for these packages. So far, we have orders for over one hundred and fifty (150) packages. There is still time, granted not too much, to place your orders. So, get in touch with President Wilson as soon as possible.
As the Holiday Season gets into full swing remember to drink and drive responsibly. If you are going to drink do not drive. Travel with someone who is not a drinker. Or you could take the role of the designated driver and look out for someone else. Remember also that the Pandemic is not over. We have a triple threat on our hands – Covid-19, Flu season and that respiratory illness that is going around. So still wear your mask and sanitize your hands frequently.
All the best for the Holidays. Enjoy to the max. May you and your family have a happy and blessed holiday.
The Three Kings
BY HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW
“Three Kings came riding from far away,
Melchior and Gaspar and Baltasar;
Three Wise Men out of the East were they,
And they travelled by night and they slept by day,
For their guide was a beautiful, wonderful star.
The star was so beautiful, large and clear,
That all the other stars of the sky
Became a white mist in the atmosphere,
And by this they knew that the coming was near
Of the Prince foretold in the prophecy”…………..
